JENKINTOWN, PA (MARKET WIRE) Abington Community Bancorp, Inc. (the "Company") (NASDAQ: ABBC), the "mid-tier" holding company for Abington Bank (the "Bank"), reported net income of $1.7 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, representing an increase of 23.8% over the comparable 2005 period. Diluted earnings per share were $0.11 for the quarter, compared to $0.09 per diluted share for the first quarter of 2005.
