ANTORO RESOURCES INC. and Big Red Diamond Corporation: AntOro-Big Red Diamond/Foyelet Project: Visual Picking Results

Thu, 5 Oct 2006 11:25:00 PDT

MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 10/05/2006 -- AntOro Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE: ORE) and Big Red Diamond Corp. (TSX VENTURE: DIA) are pleased to announce that the results from visual and microscopic identification of mineral grains contained in till samples taken during the Phase I exploration program on the Foyelet Project have been received. This Project is a Joint Venture between AntOro Resources and Big Red Diamond. The project is made up of 17 claim blocks covering a total area of 1,152 hectares located within the Carty, Foleyet, Horwood, Ivanhoe, Keith, Lemoine, Lincoln, Muskego, Paul, Raney, Evans and Warren townships of the Patricia mining division of Northern Ontario.

These properties were acquired following the processing and interpretation of data provided by the Natural Resources Canada 2001 "Kapuskasing Structure Geophysical Data Set, Kapuskasing-Chapleau Aeromagnetic Survey". This survey was flown with 200-metre flight line spacing. A preliminary interpretation of the magnetic data over the area of interest was completed by Scott Hogg & Associates Ltd., geophysicists, of Toronto, Ontario. The interpretation identified anomalies which could represent small circular intrusive bodies such as kimberlite pipes with diameters in the range between 100 to 300 metres. The outlined anomalies include two magnetic susceptibility lows that suggest remnant magnetization and other isolated anomalies that contrast well with their surrounding magnetic geological environment.

The 1991 "Summary Report of Kimberlite Indicator Program (OP-91-94)" by William C. Kerr, highlights the presence of numerous potential kimberlite indicator minerals from till sampling directly down-ice from numerous targets that are part of the BRDC-ORE Foleyet project. In this report, fifty-seven (57) purple to pink-purple pyrope garnets were recovered from samples taken directly down-ice from three (3) AntOro claim-blocks ("Ab02, Ab-03 and Ab-04"). The Kerr report does not provide SEM or microprobe analysis of the recovered grains.

The 2001 Chapleau-Foleyet Treasure Hunt Kimberlite Indicator Study (OGS-2001) labelled the Foleyet area as one of two highly recommended areas. The magnetic anomalies covered by the BRDC-ORE claims are located up-ice from an area where several kimberlite indicator minerals such as G10 and G9 garnets, Mg-ilmenites, chromites, Cr-diopsides and olivines have been identified in the glacial drift of the area. One G10 garnet was found in the Lemoine township and a second was found, down-ice, two townships away in the Chewett township as outlined in the above-mentioned report by Kerr.

During phase I of their exploration program on the Foleyet joint venture diamond project fifty-seven (57) hand auger drill samples were taken. Samples were taken down-ice from twelve of 17 geophysical anomalies. The 39 till and 18 esker samples averaged almost 5 samples per sampled anomaly. The geophysical anomalies on the remaining five (5) claim blocks will be explored during the Phase II exploration program (2006-07 winter field program) because these claim blocks are mostly in wetlands. The winter exploration phase will be carried-out using snowmobiles and mechanical augers.

Through the use of heavy media separation techniques, forty six (46), or 80%, of the fifty seven (57) samples collected were found to contain heavy mineral grains. Twenty one (21) of the samples contained an average of 20 heavy mineral grains and twenty five (25) of the samples contained less than 15 heavy mineral grains per sample. The samples containing an average of 20 grains came from 9 different anomalies. The grains identified under the binocular microscope and by heavy media separation were identified as Garnets, Eclogitic Garnets, Clino-Pyroxenes, Iilmenites, Chrome Diopsides, Olivines and clear white grains. The mineral grains obtained from each sample will be sent to a second laboratory for further identification using SEM and electron microprobe techniques. As soon as the probing and atomic absorption results are known they will be disclosed.

The nine sites that held very good grains will be sampled again during a separate fall campaign using a mechanical auger along a tighter sampling line and closer to the geophysical anomalies.

Samples were sent to True North Mineral Laboratories, in Timmins, ON, for picking, visual, and microscopic identification. True North is a non-certified laboratory that specializes in washing sieving and picking mineral and metallic grains. It is owned by Kevin S. Cool, a Director and Officer of Big Red Diamond Corp. All recovered heavy mineral grains have been sent to CF Minerals, in Kelowna, BC, a non certified laboratory, for SEM and Electron Micro-Probe analysis. The metallic grains were sent to Act-Lab, from Ancaster, ON, a certified laboratory, for analysis by atomic absorption.

Antoro and Big Red each hold a 50 per cent interest in the project and Big Red Diamond is deemed the operating partner. Each company also shares one half of the NSR obligations of 1.1 per cent and the 1-per-cent buyback. The project represents an important addition to an established strategic land position in this diamond-exploration area.

AntOro wishes to announce that Mr. David H. Albert has resigned as a member of the Board of Directors of AntOro Resources, to pursue other career opportunities. The Company wishes to thank him for his many years of services.

This press release has been reviewed by Benoit M. Violette, Geo, a qualified person as per National Instrument 43-101. Mr. Violette is a director of both companies.
